The much talked about ISO 9001:2008 revision of the standard finally got released on November 15th 2008. So now the standard is here, what does that mean in terms of registrations and expiration of the 2000 version? One year from the publication date (November 15, 2009), all new certifications and recertfications are mandated to be to ISO 9001:2008. Existing certifications to ISO 9001:2000 will be invalid after November 14, 2010. The International Standards Organization has a press release explaining more - Press release.
