What is the Workforce Training Fund

The Workforce Training fund is a Massachusetts fund providing Massachusetts businesses with funding and resources to train and re-train employees. The fund is financed entirely by Massachusetts employees who make contributions through their unemployment insurance contributions.

There are two programs available to Cavendish Scott clients, the General Program and the Express program. Most clients utilize the express program due to the easy application process. The General Fund is aimed at larger projects (up to $250,000.)

Express Program

Under the Express Program, businesses can apply for a grant up to $30,000 per calendar year and $3,000 per employee. The State contributes 50% of the cost of the funded training through re-reimbursement once the training has been completed. Funding can be used to train new and existing employees in all aspects of training including Quality Management System training (ISO 9001, AS9100, 13485, etc.,) Quality Manager, Risk Management, Internal Auditor training. Applications are submitted on-line with  an approval to proceed made within approximately 6 weeks. Contact us for more details.

 

General Program

Under the General Program, businesses can apply for a grant up to $250,000. Funding can be used to train new and existing employees in all aspects of training including Quality Management System training (ISO 9001, AS9100, 13485, etc.,) Quality Manager, Risk Management, Internal Auditor training. Application submission dates are announced 3 or 4 times a year with decision made within approximately 60 days. Contact us for more details.

Eligibility

For the express program, companies of less that 100 employees are eligible, for the general program any size company can apply.
